We have a winner!
I’ll get back to that in a moment.
For the last three months, my friend and co-facilitator, Jason, and I have been leading a weekly book discussion on Brennan Manning’s “The Furious Longing of God.” The timing was somewhat remarkable that we completed the discussion on his book on Wednesday, and on Friday, Mr. Manning passed away. I just wanted to take one more chance here to share what an impact his words had on my life. Reading his words built my faith, I think. Reading his words, I began to believe that God – who I’ve never doubted loves everybody else – loves me. I can’t express enough how much that means to me. I don’t know the way Heaven works, but someday, I’d love to hug that man.
As we were winding up the discussion of “The Furious Longing of God,” Jason had what I think was a fantastic idea to transition from talking about the love of God to talking about the grace of God. And with that, we have our next book: “The Grace of God” by Andy Stanley. I’ve never read Stanley, but with you guys to read along with, I really look forward to it!

Awesome! Congrats TC. And though I have only read one of Mr. Manning’s books so far, I am so grateful for his honesty, vulnerability, and compassion that shines through. He helped to show Jesus and that is incredibly appreciated. Thanks Sarah–looking forward to diving in next week!
Thanks, Jason! I think that after this crazy week, we need to focus on God and His marvelous grace! It will go a long way towards healing us from the beating we’ve taken this week.
