As I’m sure most of you are aware, my good buddy, Jason and I have been doing Wednesday book discussions for quite a while. Recently, we completed our first book, Mad Church Disease, by Anne Jackson. (Phenomenal book & great discussion!) And for the last seven days, we have given you all a chance to enter to win a copy of the next book we’ll be discussing—The Christian Atheist, by Craig Groeschel.
I am giving away ONE copy here and you can scoot over to Jason’s site, where he is also giving away ONE copy.
And the winner here is…
KEVIN MARTINEAU
Congratulations, Kevin!! Please email me at smsalter78@yahoo.com with your snail mail address and we’ll get your book in the mail as quickly as possible!
And now, if I may borrow a snippet from Jason’s post to help explain some of the changes we’re looking at…
With this next book, we’re hoping to garner even more discussion by adding a link widget where you can link to your own posts on the chapter. You can think of it as sort of a book club blog carnival.
Some reasons I think this will be awesome:
- It allows us to gain even more perspective and discussion than we do when being limited to a comment box
- For bloggers, you can have your Wednesday posts planned out so you don’t have to worry about coming up with new topics (hey, it’s practical but true!)
- I’m hoping it will encourage more people to read this book and be a part. It’s not about meeting a quota or setting a certain standard for “success,” my goal has always been to connect people to each other and that which will impact us all toward knowing Jesus more.
It’s certainly not a prerequisite that you post every week, but you are welcome to do that. If you can’t, no problem! You could read with us and post as often as you like. Would you be willing to do that?
If you haven’t checked out The Christian Atheist: Believing in God but Living As If He Doesn’t Exist, be sure to get more information and read the customer reviews…
Folks, I can’t tell you how much God moved in my heart during the last discussion. And I’m hoping He moved in your hearts, as well. Now, let’s prepare to allow Him to move in us, again! Please join us back here next Wednesday, when we will begin to discuss Chapter 1.
I know that dude. I’m so gonna rob him!
Wahooo! I won!! Thanks Sarah! 🙂
Congrats, Kevin!
Congratulations to Kevin!!!
I’m getting more excited about this as we go! Thanks Sarah for being so awesome and including me on the ride. 🙂
Since I’m a slacker and didn’t comment so I could win the book (not commenting doesn’t mean not reading…fear not), I’m on Amazon right now buying the book. Can’t wait to start reading it and dicussing it!!!
love ya 🙂
Aww, Marns! I know you’re not a slacker! You’re just busy ridding the world of pestilence (i.e. bees and mice). But I’m glad you’re buying it anyway. Now, you can come discuss it with me and Jason. You know that we both need your exceeding wisdom to keep us on the straight and narrow. 🙂
