A Book Discussion With Heart!

I’d like to announce our next book discussion, but I have to start with a flashback. Sorta.

Jason and I have been doing these book discussions for more than six years now. It all started with Mad Cow Disease. Okay, actually, it was Mad Church Disease. But that was where we started, and we’ve kind of explored a pretty wide variety of books. Some of them I’ve loved. Some of them, I’ve loved less. But I’ve always loved our little community and the folks that have wandered through for visits…

A couple of years ago, I went through a really hard time. Like, really hard. Like, one of the hardest of my life. And while I was going through that season — and co-facilitating the book discussion — I had a talk with Jason. I told him what a hard time I was having relating to the book we were reading at that time. It was just so far removed from what I was personally dealing with at the time. Jason encouraged me to suggest books for the discussion that would speak to the place I was. But I was in such a bad place that I didn’t.

Thank the Lord, I’m in a better place now! But recently, I read a book that didn’t just speak to the place where I’ve been. It was life-changing to me. And after a bit of discussion with Jason, we’ve decided that in case it might speak to others too, we’re going to do it.

So, tonight, we’re announcing our newest book discussion — Christa Black Gifford’s book, “Heart Made Whole: Turning Your Unhealed Pain into Your Greatest Strength.”

Next week, we’ll start the discussion with Chapter 1. We would LOVE for y’all to join in, but of course, if you can’t read the book, you’re still welcome to come visit.

If you haven’t met my co-facilitator, Jason, please go introduce yourself!

And we’ll see you next week!

  1. But, what do I do? Post a blog about it and reply to yours and Jason’s? I am so loving this book by the way. It is timely.
